Help design an online tool for stress in early Ulcerative Colitis
Join our online workshops to shape a new intervention for managing stress in early Ulcerative Colitis (UC)

About the study

An Ulcerative Colitis (UC) diagnosis can affect all aspects of life as well as the way we perceive ourselves and our mental health. Dealing with issues that cause stress in early UC may protect against poorer physical and mental health in the future. We’re developing an online support tool designed specifically for people who are newly diagnosed with UC. This tool will be based on real experiences and research, and it aims to help navigate the first year after diagnosis with more confidence and less stress.Your input could make a real difference. By taking part in this project, you’ll be helping us create something that could support people with UC at a really difficult time.
About the workshops

If you decide to take part in this project, you’ll be invited to join two online workshops, each lasting 2.5 hours. These workshops will bring together people living with UC, healthcare professionals, researchers, and others to co-design a new online tool aimed at reducing stress in the first year after diagnosis.Workshop 1: Exploring Needs and Developing Support Ideas
In the first session, we’ll focus on how an online tool could help address the key stressors identified in earlier interviews with people recently diagnosed with UC. You’ll take part in group discussions to share your experiences and identify ways in which an online tool could reduce these stresses.Workshop 2: Shaping the Solution
In the second session, you’ll work with the group to review and refine a prototype of the online tool. We’ll explore its content, format, and usability, and gather your feedback on how it can be improved to better support people with UC.Both workshops will be video- and audio-recorded so we can accurately capture your insights and ideas.
